DAILY CROSS

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.   LUKE 9:23 DAILY CROSS Every day my heart beat sounds I wake to hear my Lord's true call Follow me and bear my wounds In faith and love, be straight and tall Painful cries each day will bring A closer walk to Christ's command Love one another as I loved you Build your lives on rock not sand Prayerful sighs each breath will take Another route to reach God's ear Dancing closer to the burning flame Deny yourself thy haunting fear Every day my heartbeat sounds A deeper love within my chest The cross I bear I won't lay down Until at Jesus' feet I eternally rest For now, my love, I'll bear the wait The Weight was borne by Christ alone I believe Jesus my Lord will soon return But until that day I will follow Him home

FOLLOW

If the cross you bear is loving God,
Lift it high for the world to see;
This command Christ gave to you and me:
Take up your cross and follow.

If the cross you bear is loving people,
Lift it above the world's religions;
The example He gave for keeping friends:
Die to yourself and follow.

If the cross you bear is loving yourself,
Lay it down and let it burn;
A lesson Christ gave for us to learn:
Live for others and follow.

If the cross you bear is much too heavy,
Lift it one last time to Jesus' shoulders;
He obeyed His Father to save your soul,
Put down your pride and follow.
