WALK IN THE LIGHT

Happy Thinksgiving!-- hmm, interesting parapraxis --I meant to write Thanksgiving!
This was written a week or so ago after meeting a person who was instrumental in the
life of my sister's husband -- for that I give thanks! This poem, dedicated to Floyd,
began after reading David Jeremiah's account of the incredible life of Helen Keller,
while contemplating Colossians 2:6-7. Hope you enjoy a very happy Thanksgiving!

"As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and
established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving." - Colossians 2:6-7

WALK IN THE LIGHT

Step outside yourself for a while,
Walk in the Light of someone else;
Leave the darkness of your nights,
Let God guide you to Himself.

Keep going when your heart is weary,
Walk in the light of a brand new day;
Don't linger long in times that were teary,
Humbly enter God's throne room of grace.

Step lively while you still are able,
Walk in the strength of the Lord Jesus Christ;
Secure in the only true faith don't just sit,
Get up and do something good with your life.

Walk in the light while you still can,
Find joy in every moment you're given;
When you must be still, take your stand,
With a grateful heart of thanksgiving.

But if we are living in the light,
as God is in the light, then we
have fellowship with each other,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son,
cleanses us from all sin. -- NLT
